Welcome To Flora's Italian Cafe

Branco & Flora Raiac
Branco and Flora Raiac, originally from Romania, have a passion for their profession. They have been restaurateurs close to 20 years now and have made a name for themselves by serving fine Italian and European dishes, offering an extensive wine selection and providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
Branco has been cooking professionally since the age of 14 and was mentored by tough chefs in the region. He became a chef at 17, most notably by a very large and tough Hungarian chef. “I was the youngest chef in a city with half a million people and 250 restaurants”, Branco remarked. After a year of working at his job, the company decided to pay for, and send him to, the culinary institute for three years to get his diploma.
Flora, on the other hand, was in school to become an electrician where she met Branco’s cousin. He had told her that Branco was a chef and suggested they should meet. Originally uninterested, she heard from someone else that he was “very good looking” and decided to see for herself. After dating for three years, they got married.
They decided to move to the U.S. and chose the New Jersey area. Due to a large Italian population, it was the perfect setting for starting an Italian restaurant. Villa Romangna was born. Through hard work and determination they developed a loyal following for the delicious Italian & European dishes and desserts they were creating, which has won them many awards.
After owning Villa Romangna for 10 years, it was a time for a change. They moved to Hilton Head Island and started Flora’s Italian Café which has once again received awards for excellence in fine dining, desserts and atmosphere.
Fine dining and desserts, an excellent wine list presented in an inviting and comfortable atmosphere make this a definite dinner destination on the Island!
